The Mesoamerican Reef’s diversity both in types of coral and marine wonders is enormous, due in part to its relative good health; red mangroves, which serve as a natural filtration for the reefs, protect a significant portion of it.
Hundreds of species of fish and countless other creatures make their home here; among these, you’re sure to spot fairy basslet, angel fish, parrot fish, octopus, starfish, eels, anemones…the list is almost infinite, yet each spotting more exciting than the last. Add to that friendly schools of dolphin that may show up at any time and put on a show, or manatees and sea turtles just passing by. The time spent in these waters is nothing short of spectacular.
